The Freedom Bridge

Episode 4: "Welcome to the Fight" - A Wild Ride to Redemption

Abbey Season 1 Episode 4

In this episode, we hear Ray's jaw-dropping and faith-filled life story. Buckle up. It's a rollercoaster.

Ray opens up to Abbey about his past struggles with drug addiction, homelessness, violence, and some seriously close calls with the law (we're talking a potential 50 year sentence). He shares candidly about living in his car, couch-hopping, and how, through it all, God always found a way to keep a roof over his head, even if just temporarily.

We also dive into his emotional and spiritual journey, from being a church kid with a big heart who looked up to his God-fearing grandfather to straying far from that path. After a brutal, life-threatening attack, Ray had a powerful near-death encounter where he says he met Jesus.

Now, Ray is sober, full of faith, and deeply reflective. He talks about how his past doesn't define him, how God's grace saved him, and how he's growing into the man he always wanted to be, for himself and for his daughter.

There’s pain, yes, but also humor, hope, and one incredible comeback story. Ray reminds us that no matter how far you fall, there’s always a way back and it might just come at 2:30 AM with God chuckling, “Welcome to the fight.”
